WE ALL HAVE STORIES TO TELL

So tell us your story about life in High Falls. You can send in a story of a few lines, paragraphs or pages. You may also have pictures and maps to share (we will copy these for you). Our goal is to assemble these verbal histories based on personal memories into a “Stories of High Falls” book to be published periodically by the Conservancy.

Please contact us with your stories! If you prefer to tell your story rather than type it, we will be happy to meet with you.

HOLLYWOOD COMES TO HIGH FALLS - MEMORIES OF "SPLENDOR"

Splendor in the Grass, the 1961 film directed by Eli Kazan, featuring Natalie Wood and Warren Beatty filmed the “falls scene” in High Falls, NY. During the filming, many High Falls residents had the opportunity to meet and interact with the actors and crew. One can only imagine the special event this was!

The Conservancy is collaborating with Ms. Megan Sperry, SUNY New Paltz, to capture this important part of High Falls history in a documentary film. The film will be released for all Conservancy members and friends to see at a special showing in High Falls at the firehouse, in the spring of 2019.
